FOCUS: Alison Worldon, Practice Manager of Ticli Blaxland Lawyers, celebrates her decade of service to the Coffs Harbour community.
How long have you worked at TBL and why?
In March this year, I celebrated my 10-year anniversary with TBL.
I have seen first-hand the dedication that is required to manage a successful small business. It was instilled in me early-on, that providing the highest level of service is crucial, particularly in a regional community. Ticli Blaxland is Coffs’ longest serving law firm and I am proud to be a part of the team.
How did you get into this line of work?
I had a passion for law throughout high school, where I no doubt drove my Legal Studies teacher senseless with my constant hypothetical scenarios. Fresh out of school, I jumped at the opportunity to work with TBL.
I was initially employed as a receptionist and then ventured into conveyancing for a number of years. Over time, I was also exposed to the many other areas in which TBL practises.
I quickly developed an interest in the business aspect of the firm and started assisting with the bookkeeping and administration. In 2016, I was promoted to Practice Manager. Since then, my goal has been to keep the firm current, whilst keeping its traditions alive.
Why have you chosen to work and reside in Coffs?
I was born and bred in Coffs Harbour. After entering the workforce at the age of 13, I developed strong ties to the area and loved the sense of community.
My husband and I grew up on the Coffs Coast and knew that by staying here, our daughter would have the same great opportunities and cherished memories that we did.
What has been your greatest challenge?
As so many women can relate to, being a working mum and maintaining a manageable work-life balance has been my greatest test by far. However, I have been fortunate to work with a supportive team.
As Practice Manager, I have been instrumental to the firm’s transition from a traditional Partnership, to an Incorporated Legal Practice, which has provided a solid foundation for the firm’s future success.
